FLORAL HEART

The floral heart is the second embroidered artwork from the ‘Nature & Us’ collection. The design is based on a scientific diagram of a human heart.

The inspiration behind the floral heart is how we can engage with nature to improve our mental and physical health. The design also celebrates how wonderful our bodies are how we are a part of nature not apart from it.

The top section is densely stitched to create a wood effect. The floral section of the design features a rose, poppy, sunflower, dahlia, vines, leaves, smaller flowers and berries. The colour palette is mainly shades of red and pink with complimentary tones of oranges and yellows. Creating the floral heart took around 100 hours.
